About me
26 September 2011
For those who do not know me, my name is Nicolai Høeg Pedersen and I'm a co-founder of Dynamicweb (Founded with Christian Beer in 1999).
I work in Dynamicweb HQ in Århus, Denmark. My daily tasks are in the product development where I say crazy things that other have to do and also take part of the development myself. I'm the one who did the Designs & Layout engine, Language Management and all the things with SEO and URLs. But usually i do not code that much, but have done it for many, many years now.
I studied at The Århus School of Business back in the late nineties - economics, inventory management, internal accounting and stuff like that. That's where I learned to operate databases, my first coding in VBA for Excel and Access, statistical analysis in SAS from SAS Institute. It is also where I got my first e-mail address, saw my first web page and made my first web page. While studying I worked in a major Danish bank (Danske Bank) as a supporter when the first home banking was introduced - that was 14.4K modems back then! Later on I learned HTML as part of the job coding screen layouts for the first web based home banking for companies.Coding
I started coding for the web in 1998 - right clicking a table inside MS Access, and accidentally exported it as .asp file. I had seen that extension on the web, so searched on Altavista (Wow that was big back then!), and finally got around installing Personal Web Server in Windows 98 Beta 2. I built a couple of websites - a portal for advertising your house on the net and skip the real estate agent (Way ahead of its time :-)) and a web shop selling outdoor gear - at way too low prices, no money earned! But lessons learned - and those lessons was put into my 3rd project which was Dynamicweb 1.0

What else...
I live in Århus area, was born in 1975 near Copenhagen, married, have 2 kids and run a lot and bake a lot (I know its korny!). Sometimes I also drink beers, sometimes too many, and sometimes I go home early. So human!Where else to find me

.. and, I am proud to say you trained me in Danske Bank (actually Danske Data, but who is counting) . I also remember when you once showed me one of the things you were working on (later Dynamic web) you showed me with great energy the potential of CMS systems. I remember I didn’t quite see it. ... i thought, hmmm programming web pages, isn’t raw html easier and freer ! Lessons learned :-) Kudos.
